Roberto Maria Cucinotta – Organ Harpsichord and Composer

Roberto Maria Cucinotta was born in Monza Milan-Italy), after the completion of studies of higher Chemistry he graduated in Organ and Composition at the Conservatory of Music of Verona; and recently at the G. Verdi Conservatory G.Verdi of Como, he graduated in Piano with a Concert program and a Thesis on the Concert transcriptions for organ to piano.

He subsequently took advanced courses in interpretation whit Jean Langlais (Modern Organ Literature-repertory and Improvvisation), Ton Koopman and Tini Mathot (Baroque music for organ and Harpsichord, Harpsicord Continuo)Emilia Fadini (Musical Theory and keyboard execution between the Reinaissance and Baroque periods), Wihlelm Krumbach and Alberto Basso (Bach Organ culture training and Bach organ music).

In 2013 the Master-Class of Luigi FerdinandoTagliavini, at the Conservatoire of Milan (Old Italian Harpsicord Music) and to the “Accademia San Martino” in Bologna, at the Historic Organs of the San Petronio Church (Old Italian Organ Music).

In 1985, he won the “Donato Marrone National Organ Competition”. He was also classified in the ninth edition of Noale (Venice) Organ Competition devoted to music for the organ by J.S.Bach.

Since 1988 he has been Honorary Organist of the Historical Great Organ Romantic Orchestral of th Insigne Collegiata of St.Ambrogio in Alassio (Savona-Italy).

He has held hundreads of concerts,including many tests and inaugurations of major new and restored organs and also takes an interest in design aspects.

He teaches Complementary Organ and Gregorian Chant and holds concerts as a solist and composer in various instrumental, vocal and orchestral formations.

In 1997 and from 2000 to 2013 he completed a tour, performing on prestigious organs in Japan and also at the piano and how composer. He has composed several pieces for the organ, ranging from free style to counterpoint, with the compositions aimed at valorizing the ancient gregorian mode,reworked whit a contemporary pattern.

He is also the composer of music for the voice and piano, performed at concerts held born in Italy and abroad and recently published (Ed.Pizzicato Verlag Helvetia, Ed.Zanibon-Armelin Padova, Ed. ProArteMusica, Ed.Carrara, Ed. Berben Ancona) Edizioni Ruginenti (Milano).

His performances have always received a warm welcome from public and critics for their interpretative clarity, style search for a personal musical language.
